Let me start by saying, it's been a long road trying to figure out my father's side of the family. I've been researching our heritage for approximatly 6 years. Growing up, I had heard some stories, but, not many. The one that was ongoing was we were related to the Younger brothers that traveled with Jesse James, yet, no one knew how! So, the research began.....The Younger side was easy, many people apparently want to be related to this family. There are many great websites in the internet that other people have proven that we are in fact directly related to the infamous Younger brothers. They are my 2nd cousins 3x's removed, put simply, thier 2nd Great Grandfather, Joshua Logan Younger, is my 4th Great Grandfather. Now, to the Payne side. With such a common name, it should have been difficult to find my ancestors. the only thing I had was a copy of some notes, re-typed, that were originally written by my 2nd Great Grandfather, Lucien Payne. With notes in hand, I started. Again, I got lucky and easily found all of the info already online from other researchers, (actually, neither the Younger's or the Paynes were completly painless, I did have to research). I am very greatfull to all of the cousins I have found that helped me with the research! The last part of my family is the Cox side, which is my name-sake. Unfortunatly, I have not been as blessed with this part of the family. For 6 years I have researched and have not been able to get past my 2nd Great Grandfather, Samuel Cox, born in 1829. So, it's been frustrating. I know who he married and his children, but that's it. If anyone can help me out with this part I would be extremly grateful. I have many theories, but, my siblings refuse to believe that our ancesters were dropped here by an Alein spaceship, so I keep searching! Anyway, I have listed all the ancesters in these three namesakes and how they are connected to me. Hopefully, someone out there can help to connect any dots that I am missing. Most of the info is verified, but, not all. Feel free to blog or comment, but please be respectful, this is a family page!
